Rob Power is the Owner and Director of RBP Tax Advisory Pty Ltd. Rob provides advice to accountants, corporates and non-profits on a variety of income tax, CGT, and FBT issues.

Rob's experience includes 6 years within the ATO in various audit and advisory divisions, 2 years on the NTAA hotline and 15 years of dedicated tax consulting at Webb Martin Consulting Pty Ltd. This has enabled him to accumulate a high level of technical knowledge across a broad range of tax issues.

Further, as a result of the ever increasing compliance activities of the ATO, Rob has also been actively involved in assisting taxpayers subject to ATO reviews.

Rob assists with the preparation of private binding ruling applications and objections against original/amended assessments and associated penalties as well as GIC remission requests.

The ever growing global expansion of employees and Australian businesses overseas has seen Rob more involved in advising on international tax issues including tax residency status and expatriate tax.

Clients use Rob because of his practical and timely approach to providing advice. The majority of Rob’s clients are public practice accounting firms based both in the major State capitals and rural areas. These firms’ locations range from Darwin in the north to Warrnambool & Launceston in the south and who consider RBP Tax Advisory Pty Ltd to be their firm’s primary tax resource.

Rob prides himself on providing accurate, practical and affordable tax advice to his clients. Rob has a large network of peers throughout the tax, accounting and legal fraternity and he will often work collaboratively with these peers, or refer clients to these contacts as required.

Outside of work Rob enjoys watching AFL, fishing and is a keen guitar player.

"Like many small to medium sized accounting practices we try to outsource our specialist taxation work as much as possible as we find it is more efficient and effective for us to do so. Over the years we have principally dealt with Rob Power who we have found to be an extremely competent taxation professional with an extensive range of knowledge on taxation matters.

In addition to the above, we have had Rob specifically speak at a client function we organised dealing with property and tax matters. The audience feedback from his presentation was extremely positive."

Scott Williams, Pollards Williams Pty Ltd, Sydney
